今生接触佛法，可谓是人生幸事，能在山东省博山正觉寺修行，更是幸中之幸。正觉寺是正在重建中的千年正法道场，这里有佛教临济宗第四十五代传人能行长老，有曾经三步一叩朝拜五台山，而今正在三步一叩朝拜九华山的仁炟法师，有我那一群领导和同志们。 It is fortunate that I am able to learn Buddhism in my present life, and it is my greatest pleasure to cultivate at Zhengjue Temple, a religious site of genuine Dharma with more than 1000 years history. The temple is currently undergoing reconstruction. Venerable Neng Xing (能行长老), the 45th generation exponent of Linji School (临济宗) and Venerable Ren Da who once performed three-step-one-prostration all the way from Zhengjue Temple to Wutai Mountain and is now prostrating from the Temple towards Jiuhua Mountain, are great masters here. A group of my leaders and co-workers are also here.
自从2008年结缘正觉寺，听闻了佛法，接触了一群跟随仁炟法师无怨无悔为正觉寺建设付出各项劳动的义工师兄，我的生活开始有了飞速的变化。首先是忙了，我成了山东省博山正觉寺的铁杆义工，再也没有时间东拉西扯。有时间我就诵经，写文章宣传一下正觉寺，还有就是做好我的世间工作，为家庭生活奔波。最幸运的是，有了我的这帮领导和同志们，是我做义工最大的收获。其实我口中的领导和同志们是一群人，只是随着环境变化，他们的角色和我的角色也在变化。 Since year 2008, I have been in touch with Zhengjue Temple, listened to Dharma talks and came to contact with a group of volunteers who have been following Ven. Ren Da in contributing towards the rebuilding of the temple with no regrets and no complaints. Since then, my life started to change rapidly. Firstly, I became very busy as a hard-core volunteer at Zhengjue Temple who no longer have time rambling around. Whenever I have time I will recite sutras, write articles to promote Zhengjue Temple, accomplish my mundane work and run about for my family. The luckiest thing is I have gained a lot from having leaders and co-workers doing voluntary work. Actually they are the same group of people who play different roles at different points of time.
刚开始做义工的时候，所有的义工师兄都是我的领导。我非常敬佩他们有一颗清净心，能够在这个物欲横流的时代，不图任何回报而忘我地工作。他们有的是专职做义工，有的是兼职做义工。在做义工的时候，他们经常为了解决一个问题通宵达旦地工作。经常我在晚上零点之后上网查资料，还有几个义工挂在网上，他们绝对不是在闲聊，而是在为山东省博山正觉寺工作，在交流工作中出现的问题。义工们有时候也有争执，但是为了共同的目标，他们之间更多的是相互谦让。而我什么也不懂，就把师兄们都看作我的领导，我的老师。 All co-workers were my leaders when I first started to become a volunteer. I admired them because they have a pure heart, willing to work for no rewards in this highly materialistic world. Some of them work as full-time volunteers, the other are part-timers. Very often, they work until late night just to solve a problem. I always see a few of them still online after midnight when I am doing research. They are not chit-chatting but working on some problems and exchanging work-related views. Sometimes they do have arguments but more often than not, they tolerate each other in order to achieve the same goal. I regarded all these brothers and sisters as my leaders and teachers as I knew next to nothing then.
在做义工的同时，我发现这么好的正法道场、这么好的师父竟然知道的人不是很多，于是我就发愿写文章，把这个鲜为人知的宝贵的修行道场宣传出去，让更多的人来这里修行。从此后，我就成了领导，怎么当的呢？且听我一一道来。 I found out that although Zhengjue Temple was such a good religious site of genuine Dharma and there was also a very nice Venerable, not many people were aware of them. Therefore I vowed to write articles to publicize such a valuable religious site for cultivation so that more people can cultivate over here. I became a leader since then. How did it happen? Here is the story that I am going to explain.
我15年前就辞职了，那时电脑不普及，打字都是那种铅字打字机，和现在的电脑打字完全不同。辞职后，由于在原单位工作时落下了颈椎病，从此也就不再上网了，只是关心着我那点维持生活的小生意。后来我写了小豆腐块文章要发文时不会操作了，是师兄们帮我发上网的。他们还教会了我怎么上网、怎么发文章、怎么发照片、怎么上传文件……没想到我变废为宝啦，还能有点作用啦。我感觉找到了人生乐趣，能赶上时代步伐了。从此我也就变得更加自信了。 I resigned 15 years ago. Computer was not popular at that time, we used to type with typewriter not computer. I never surfed the internet after my resignation because of cervical spondylosis (neck pain) that I got from previous job. I just took care of my small business that supported my living. Subsequently I wrote some small articles and wanted to post them on internet, but I did not know how to do it. Some brothers posted them for me and taught me how to surf the internet, upload articles, photos and so on. So it was amazing that a useless fellow like me could be turned into a valuable helping hand. I rediscovered the pleasures of life as I could keep up with the time now. I became more confident since then.
我非常感激我的这群师兄们，他们中很多人的学历都在大学本科以上，有的还是博士研究生。但他们从来也不会瞧不起我这个相当于初中文化的笨师兄，总是不厌其烦地教我做这做那，手把手地教我打字指法。我的电脑知识都是他们亲手教出来的。还有，每当我写了一篇文章不自信的时候，我都会发给我的那些高学历的师兄，让他们给我把关。于是我就有了好几位“秘书”。理所当然，我就是“领导”了，我的“秘书”同志们大都比我小十几岁，甚至可以叫我阿姨了。但他们却像哄小孩一样指导我，哪个字不是这样写，哪个标点符号不是这样用。他们笑呵呵地对我说：“你是俺们的领导，俺很愿意为你当秘书。”这就是我这个领导的来历了。我知道，他们很愿意我能多写文章来宣传正觉寺。他们的努力没有白费，我还算争气，现在简单的文章都能写点了。感恩啊感恩，我的领导和同志们！ I was very grateful to all my brothers and sisters. Many of them are university graduates, some are even PhD students. However, they never looked down upon me although my education background is only up to secondary level. Instead, they always taught and guided me, a clumsy one, the correct way of typing on keyboard. I gained all my computer knowledge from them. Furthermore, I will forward my article to some highly educated brothers and let them check for me whenever I am not confident about it. They are like my “secretaries” and I am like the “leader”. Most of my “secretaries” are more than ten years younger than I, they can even call me aunty. But they guide me in a way like I am a child. “This word is wrongly written, there should be a comma here.” They told me: “You’re our leader. We are willing to be your secretaries.” That was how I became a “leader”. I know they are glad that I can write more articles to publicize Zhengjue Temple. Their hard work in guiding me is not wasted, now I can write some simple articles. I am so grateful to my fellow leaders and co-workers!
在山东省博山正觉寺，你只要想做义工，就一定会做一个合格的义工，同时你还会学到很多的知识。因为这里经常有义工师兄发心为义工们做培训，如：佛门礼仪、怎样写作、怎样摄影，只要想学，都会有人免费教你的。哎，世间真的有比金钱更宝贵的东西，那就是我和那些不计得失的义工师兄们那份深深的情谊。我们在师父的教导下，正在一步步地成长。我虽然年纪大了，但在这个环境里，我总是感觉我是小孩子，因为在学佛的路上，我还在蹒跚学步，所以更要努力了。 At Zhengjue Temple, if you want to be a volunteer, you will definitely become one who meets the standard. At the same time, you will also learn a lot of knowledge because at times some volunteers will provide the other volunteers some training such as Buddhist ritual, essay writing and photography. There is always someone willing to teach you for free as long as you want to learn. Hey, in this world there really is something more valuable than money. The deep bond between me and those generous brothers and sisters is priceless. We are growing gradually under the guidance of Venerable. Although I am elderly, I feel like I am a child because in the path of learning Buddhism I am still a toddling beginner. Therefore I have to work harder.
山东省博山正觉寺，是一个非常庄严而美丽的地方，在仁炟法师的带领下，这个重建的正法道场正在一天天建起。这里需要很多义工，你想来吗？来了你就会知道这个和合的义工队伍带给你多少无形的财富了。我喜欢这里，也喜欢我的那群领导和同志们。 Zhengjue Temple is a very solemn and beautiful place. Under the capable leadership of Ven. Ren Da, this religious site of genuine Dharma is being built up day by day. They need a lot of volunteers. Are you willing to join them? You will know how much intangible wealth you will gain by joining this harmonious voluntary group. I like this place and I love all my leaders and co-workers.
